A friend of mien sent me the following pictures in the email. Unfortunately my source had no knowledge of where this dramatic bear rescue action happened.
Rumor has it that the bear was walking across the bridge and when a car came along he got startled and run over the bridge and from their climbed over the railing onto bridge pillars. However this happened this is surely one lucky bear.

That is just amazing.
I saw this on TV. An incredible rescue and that is one lucky bear.
This was near Lake Tahoe, CA.
The most amazing thing was that rescuers were mostly members of the community (including several hunters) who mobilized together to get this bear off the bridge.
If I had time, I'd look up and link the related newspaper articles... they should be plenty available though if you want to do the search yourself.

Great article on the rescue Othmar; Thanks for publishing it for all to read.Really nice to see all the folks come together to rescue the bear from such a tradgedy that could have been fatal and most likely would have been.
Thanks Deerslayer, yes it is nice to see that people can come together and rescue a magnificent animal like that from certain death.
