The headline is no joke, I wish it were, according to an article in the Associated Press is now been pondered by renowned wildlife experts at the Texas A&M University.
No doubt this ridicules research is going to cost a small fortune and may be a way to keep the government grants flowing. Over the years I have read about many ludicrous University research programs, like the one where several wildlife biologists and student traveled to Africa to study the sex life of ground squirrels to the tune of over a million dollars.
Studying the gender of mythical animals, however, beats a new record in useless studies. One would think that in these economical trying times the government would find better ways to spend money then granting it to Universities for this kind of studies.
