I had scheduled to post my hunting season highlights today but then something more important came up. Kristine posted an article on the OBS blog that made me think. For those that do not know, the Outdoor Bloggers Summit (OBS) is a young organization founded to help fellow outdoor bloggers in all aspects of blogging and to promote outdoor blogging as a serious journalistic activity. We had planed on holding a summit early next year but due to the current economic crises we felt it would be wise to cancel the event until further notice.
After the cancellation of the event, fellow founding member Rex posted on his blog that he would welcome a small gathering of OBS members for an informal gathering at his Christmas Plantations. Kristine picked up that idea in her post, Regional Blogger Meetings. In the article Kristine suggests, that for the time, it might be a good idea if outdoor bloggers and OBS members from different parts of North America were to organize informal local gatherings.
Given the economical situation, which has put a huge dent into many peoples travel plans. Especially involving traveling for thousands of miles. This seems to me a brilliant idea. Since I know that several OBS members and outdoor bloggers are from Canada I would be willing to put such an informal gathering together here in our country. I am not talking about a big event, more like in the style of a outdoor blogger campfire combined with hunting or fishing. It would be neat to meet with bloggers and see them in person and have a good fun filled weekend together.
If anyone of you is interested in such a gathering here in Canada let me know by Email and then we can take from there onward.
